Agog Labs company info

Agog Labs Inc. was the proud purveyor of SkookumScript, a programming language and tool suite dedicated to the creation of gameplay in video games. It was incorporated in October 2013 and acquired by Epic Games Inc. on December 14, 2018.

Agog Labs was a member of VIATEC, DigiBC, the International Game Developers Association, and the BC Innovation Council Venture Acceleration Program (via Innovation Island). Our headquarters were located in beautiful Victoria, B.C., Canada.

We have pitched and/or presented SkookumScript at the Game Developers Conference (2015, 2016, 2017), BC Tech Summit, Founder World, Experience Tectoria, Discover Tectoria, State of the Island Economic Summit, and more.

We have been featured in articles and/or on-camera interviews by Google Developers, BCTECH, BC Gov News, and CHEK News. The B.C. Minister of Technology and Innovation has tweeted his support for SkookumScript, not once but twice.

Behold Conan’s October 28 2015 interview with Dan Feld of Google Developers at Founder World in San Francisco.

Our esteemed team of mad computer scientists has deep video game industry experience. Our Advisory Board includes video game visionary Chris Taylor and noted programming language guru Wouter van Oortmerssen.

Our flagship product, SkookumScript is a programming language and tool suite designed for video games. Development of SkookumScript’s cutting-edge Object ID feature was funded in part by a grant from the National Research Council Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program.

SkookumScript is integrated with Epic Games’s Unreal Engine 4, which has over two million developers representing about 20% of the video game development industry. Epic Games awarded us an Unreal Development Grant to support SkookumScript, and the SkookumScript Unreal Engine 4 Plugin launched as one of the first “code plugins” on the Unreal Marketplace in April 2016.

SkookumScript has significant applications in any technology involving real-time automation, such as AI, robotics, medicine, aerospace, film, Internet of Things, military, and enterprise systems. It is already used in architectural design and medical imaging, and we had interest from robotics and industrial simulation firms and the U.S. Navy.
